How Permai Came to Be
Permai was founded in Kuala Lumpur in 2018 by a small group of people who had each, in their own way, found themselves trying to manage the daily logistics of caring for an ageing parent from a distance. They knew the worry that comes with long commutes, demanding jobs, and a loved one living alone.
The name Permai — meaning serene or graceful in Malay — reflects what we set out to create: an arrangement that feels calm rather than clinical, supportive rather than intrusive, and honest rather than overblown.
We started with errand coordination and gradually added home comfort consultations and regular family check-in plans as families told us what they needed most. Today we work across Kuala Lumpur Wilayah Persekutuan, focusing on three services that address the most common concerns families raise before they reach out.
